A wall that changes with the light in your room
Original paintings built from mirror pieces cut by hand. In the morning the surface catches one thing, under a lamp another, and the work looks different without having changed. Send a photo of your room and I will show you the piece on your wall, to scale, before you pay a cent.
A wall matters more than people admit
You walk past it every day. Every day it either says nothing, or it answers.
The mass-market print
Cheap, and it fills the gap. A month later you stop noticing it, because there is nothing to notice: it looks the same at nine in the morning and at nine at night.
A print pretending to be art
Printed by the thousand, identical down to the pixel, sold with the word original somewhere in the listing. You paid for the frame and for the word, not for a hand.
The piece that did not fit
It looked right in the photo. At home the scale was off, the light was wrong, the colours fought the room. Returning it is a hassle, so it hangs there for years.
How the work is made
A machine would cut a cleaner edge. A clean edge kills the reflection, so the mirror is cut by hand, piece after piece.
We talk about the wall
Where it hangs, how the light falls in the morning and in the evening, what scale that wall can actually hold.
Ground and relief
Plaster and texture paste build a surface you want to touch. The relief goes on in layers, and each one has to dry.
Cutting the mirror
Every piece is cut by hand to its own place. This is where most of the time goes, and where the reflection comes from.
Checked under two lights
The finished work is judged in daylight and under a lamp. If it goes flat under either one, I take it apart.
What you get
Made by hand, never twice the same
Ask for a subject again and I will build it again. Mirror cut by hand does not fall the same way twice, so the second one comes out its own work rather than a copy of the first.
Built for your light
Scale and palette are chosen for one specific wall and for the way light reaches it.
A surface people touch
Plaster, paste, cut mirror. Guests step closer to look, and that happens every single time.
A straight answer about your wall
If the piece will not work there, I say so before you pay and lose the sale. That is cheaper for both of us than a return.
Available work
Ready to ship from the studio. If a piece has sold, the same subject can be built for you again, and it will come out its own way.

Why trust me with a wall
Trained at two schools
Both programmes completed in full, both with certificates.
The process is shown
You can watch the mirror being cut and the relief being built, including the pieces that went in the bin.
Client words go here
Space held for the first buyers. I did not invent any, they will appear after the first sales.
Included with every piece
Four things that come with the work, whether you buy from the studio or commission it.
See it on your wall first
Send a photo of the room and I show you the piece in place, to scale, before you pay a cent. This is the one thing that stops a painting arriving too small.
Signed certificate
Title, size, materials, date, and photographs of your piece being built. It records what you own and whose hands made it.
Crated, with the hanging kit
A crate built for that size, the fixings, and instructions. Mirror set in plaster travels well when it is packed properly, and I pack it properly.
A note on the light
Where to place a lamp and what warmth to use, so the mirror stays alive after dark instead of going flat. No print shop will tell you this.

Questions people ask
Will the mirror survive shipping?
The pieces are set into a plaster ground, not glued on top of it. Every work is packed rigidly, crated for its own size. We agree on the shipping method and the packing before you pay, so you know exactly how it travels.
How long does a commission take?
A sketch comes back to you within the hour. Most pieces are finished within a month, often sooner. Larger or deeper work sits at the top of that range, because plaster and paste dry at their own pace and rushing them costs quality. You get a firm date once the size is settled, and I hold it.
What if it does not suit my interior?
That is why we start with the wall and the light, and why commissions get a sketch before any material is touched. If your photos tell me it will not work there, I say so at that point.
Can I order a piece that has already sold?
Yes. I can build the same subject again, in the same technique and palette. It will not be identical, because every mirror element is cut by hand and never falls the same way twice. You get your own version rather than a reprint, and you see it on video before you pay.
How does payment work?
We agree it in writing before anything starts: part up front, the rest on completion. The price is named before the work begins and it does not move.
I am a designer, do you work to a project brief?
Yes. I take a series for a single project, hold one palette across the rooms, and work to your handover date. Send the brief and I will tell you what is realistic in that window.
Tell me about your wall
Which room, what light reaches it, how much space you have. I will tell you what belongs there, with a price and a date.
